Kilkenny native and renowned musician Iarla Ó Lionáird has graduated with PhD from University of Limerick

The Irish songwriter and performer has hailed his journey as ‘a great adventure’

His journey started with with going to UL to do a masters in ethnomusicology in 2003 during a break from touring with his former band Afro-Celt Sound System

Speaking on the KCLR Daily Dr Ó Lionáird said he had many challenges doing it
