The RSA’s Check it fits service will visit Kilkenny this morning.
They are offering free child car seat safety checks outside ALDI on the Hebron Road from 10am – 5.30pm
The service will come to Fairgreen Shopping Centre in Carlow tomorrow.
The RSA says more than half of the child car seats it checks need adjustment to make them safe.
If a child’s car seat is not secured properly it can lead to serious or fatal injuries in the event of collision.
Lead checker Ron Richardson told KCLR why parents and guardians should take advantage of the free service.
“We can show you how to use the seat correctly. If the child is with you, we can measure, weigh the child to make sure that it’s the appropriate seat for the child and within the metrics of the seat or we’ll be able to say if they need to move on to the next stage seat.”
