Rural Ireland can’t afford to lose any more amenities, says Kilkenny Councillor

A Castlecomer Councillor says any threat to their post office would have a devastating impact on the local community.
John Brennan says that action is needed now to ensure that rural Ireland doesn’t lose anymore post offices.
It comes after it emerged last month that 700 post offices across the country are in danger of closing down, following a report carried out by KPMG.
Councillor Brennan says that if the post office in Castlecomer were to close, it would have a devastating impact on the local community.
Speaking to KCLR, John says the government must implement the recommendations put forward by an independent group to ensure the network remains viable.
