Sales of electric vehicles have overtaken diesel ones for the first time here.
Figures from the Society of the Irish Motor Industry found they represent 17.8% of the new car market this year so far, just ahead of diesel, while petrol run remain the market leader at 26% with Hybrid at 22%.
282 EVs were sold in Kilkenny up 74 on 2024 figures while in Carlow the number is 180, a rise from 60 in the same time period.
