Shamrocks Ballyhale manager Henry Shefflin says he was pleased with his side’s second-half display as they overcame Kilcormac-Killoughey in the AIB Leinster Senior Club Hurling Quarter-Final at UPMC Nowlan Park.
Trailing by three points at the break, Ballyhale rallied strongly to claim a 0-25 to 1-18 victory, setting up a semi-final meeting with Clough-Ballacolla of Laois on Sunday, November 23rd, also at Nowlan Park.
Speaking to KCLR after the game, Shefflin said:
“Bit of mixed emotions. First half not so good, but I half expected that. Second half, excellent performance and the attitude was very good. Overall we came to do a job — I knew it would be tricky after the county final. Kilcormac came to take a scalp. In the second half though I was very pleased, we dominated the game.”
Elsewhere, reigning Leinster and All-Ireland club champions Na Fianna relinquished their crown after a dramatic defeat to St Martin’s. The Wexford side edged through 1-21 to 2-17 in their quarter-final clash at Wexford Park.
There were also victories for Clough-Ballacolla and Naas in Sunday’s other Leinster quarter-final ties.
