Shock locally with the premature death of a recent recipient of the Mayor of Carlow Awards.

It’s been confirmed that Ian Lawlor from Bennekerry died on Monday.

He was awarded for his role in organising activities, events and community initiatives at SignaCare Killerig where he was the activity coordinator.

Ian’s been hailed for his hard work, commitment and dedication to residents and staff there as well as the wider community.
