Simon Coveney to investigate whether anything can be done to fix Carlow County Council’s €2m budget deficit

The Minister for Local Government is to investigate whether anything can be done to fix Carlow County Council’s €2m budget deficit.

It was revealed earlier this summer that the local Council will be €2.5m short when it comes to trying to make up next year’s budget.

Carlow TD Pat Deering says the county has also been unfairly treated when it comes to funding from the government.

He told KCLR News today that Minister Simon Coveney has said he will see if something can be done to fix this.
