Carlow was among the winners at last night’s National Age Friendly Awards.
Three local groupings were in the running – Kilkenny’s team was pipped at the post as was Carlow’s Together We Are Strong.

But Carlow’s Older Persons Council and County Council’s Information Hub was declared victorious in the contest’s Communication category.
