Success of ‘Billy’s Tearooms’ an inspiration as funding announced for more community shops in Kilkenny

One village’s bid to fight back against the closure of local businesses is hoping to inspire others to do the same.

Billy’s Tearooms and Shop has been going from strength to strength since it opened its doors last July with a team of volunteers rotating shifts.

Now Kilkenny Leader Partnership is aiming to fund similar initiatives across the county.

€60,000 has been announced to develop a network of community shops in Kilkenny.
