Local students run amok in Kilkenny
One of the big stories of the week was that of damage done by students from a Kilkenny school while marking their last day before Leaving Cert examinations begin. This subsequently prompted this response from the school in question.

Kilkenny’s Presentation Secondary School choir wowed judges on Thursday night with their performance of Ava Maria but did not secure enough votes to make through to Saturday’s live final.
There had been hopes of a wildcard position but this never transpired, the competition eventually won by by illusionist Richard Jones, an army bandsman with The Household Cavalry (and bookies’ favourite).
Carlow school evacuated over bomb threat
Askea Girls National School was one of a number of schools targeted by a bomb threat over text message this week, the school having to be evacuated before students returned the following day.
