The annual Dragon Boat Regatta takes place in Carlow Town today with the first race off at 11 o’clock and the last one at five past 3.
The ancient Chinese sport has recently made it’s way to Ireland and involves around 20 rowers in a 40 foot long wooden boat with a drummer at the head.
This is the 3rd such regatta to be held in Carlow Town and speaking to KCLR, Chairperson of the Irish Dragon Boat Association, Julie Doyle says the previous two were a great success.
