First tonight on the Glanbia Farm Show, John McGuinness, TD, addressed many of the topical issues in Irish farming today during an extended interview with Matt O’ Keeffe.
Marianne Walsh, senior nutritionist with the National Dairy Council, described a study into calcium and vitamin dietary deficiencies in teenagers as “worrying”. She outlined the steps that need to be taken as part of a dairy enriched diet to ensure good bone growth and general health wellbeing. She also recommended the HealthFest website, as a further source of information on teenage nutrition.
Ben Colchester spoke about the RDS Sustainability Award he and his wife Charlotte won recently.
