There were over 300 fines issued in Carlow and Kilkenny for illegally parked cars, which impacts upon the visually impaired community.
Dog fouling is also a major issue in both counties, however, no fines were issued by either local authority for these offences.
Speaking to KCLR News, Cathaoirleach of Carlow County Council Cllr Fergal Browne, stressed the hazards that dog fouling presents, and noted that he was not happy that no fines were issued in relation to the problem.
His comments come after the Head of Policy at Vision Ireland, Kevin Kelly, called for an increased crackdown on dog fouling.
