Hello there, welcome to my KCLR96FM blog, which I hope to use to keep you up to date with my work at KCLR, new good music, and any random videos/bits of information I come across that I think KCLR listeners will find interesting!
So, at the moment, I’m very busy at work at KCLR, working on a radio play with Thomastown based writer Gillian Grattan. It’s called ‘The Undertakers’, and I’d describe it as a black comedy. Several days work goes into the making of every radio play, between recording, editing, sound effects, and post-production. A lot of work for what is just under an hour of drama! Right now, we are about halfway through post-production, and will complete the drama this week. To give you an idea of the improvisation and authenticity we aim for with all our audio dramas, have a look at how we make a ‘fight scene’. What exactly is a ‘shleeveen’?

Even though it’s only Monday, I’m already getting fired up for this weekend’s shows. On Thursday, I’m on air from 8pm for Thursday Night Live, and Saturday from the earlier time of 6pm. I’m hoping to bring you some great music as well through my blog, that you might not necessarily hear on KCLR, but is still well worth the listen. Here’s my song for today:

Found this on vinyl (big cds as my girlfriend calls them) in KCLR (thanks to John Keane), and have listened to it several hundred times since!
