Today’s the last day to have your say on Carlow’s lime kiln

5 o’clock this evening is the deadline for you to submit your thoughts on Carlow’s lime kiln.

It’s been proposed that the structure, which is on the site of the old sugar factory in the town, should be added to a list of protected structures so that it can’t be demolished.

The issue divided opinion amongst local councillors so the decision was taken to put it out for public consultation.

However, Carlow’s Mayor, Fintan Phelan says the ultimate decision will depend on more than just public submissions.
