Troops at Kilkenny city army barracks helping to save an endangered bird

The Irish Defence Forces locally has been doing its bit for the environment.

As well as their usual daily activities and service abroad, troops have been helping to save an endangered bird.

They’ve erected 36 Swift next cavities at James Stephens Barracks with help from Birdwatch Ireland and Kilkenny County Council.
