Troops from James Stephens Barracks in Kilkenny are now half way through their tour in the Lebanon.

44 local soldiers were deployed on peacekeeping duty in May of this year amongst 190 troops of the 53rd Infantry Group.

68 of the soldiers in Lebanon are on their first overseas mission – which involved extensive mobile patrolling throughout the Irish area of operations.

Speaking to KCLR from their base, Lieutenant Colonel Stephen Ryan says their doing a lot of work in Lebanon.
