Work on a new €1million training facility for Carlow firefighters to start within weeks

Work on a €1million project to help train up local fire-fighters will start in Hacketstown in the coming weeks.

The extension to the Fire Services existing facility will include a new fire-fighter training ring, lecture rooms, shower facilities, and a drill yard with a training tower.

The county council has granted planning for the project.

Most of the work will happen over the course of the next 12 months.
