Young people being urged to ‘Rise Up’ as new political group formed in Kilkenny

A new group is being formed in Kilkenny city for young people who are interested in politics.

Renua Councillor Patrick McKee is behind this new group – called ‘Rise Up’.

It will give young people in the city and county the chance to express their interest in local and national politics.

It’s hoped the group will be up-and-running in the next few weeks.

Speaking to KCLR news, Councillor McKee says he noticed young people weren’t engaging with politics – and that’s why he’s setting up the group.
