The youngest member of Carlow County Council says trying to get on the property ladder is tough.

Ben Ward was elected at the age of 21 and one of his campaign promises was to have affordable housing for younger people.

He’s been telling KCLR News that over the past 18 months he’s been working with the local authority and the Department of Housing to build properties which are generally targeted at first-time buyers at reduced costs.
