191 men and women who served during the Great War have been given a permanent memorial in Callan

191 men and women who served during the Great War have been given a permanent memorial in Callan.

A major plaque, bearing all their names, as well as a statue have been built into the wall of the church there and were officially unveiled yesterday.

The Callan War Memorial Committee say it’s been 3-and-a-half-years in the making because of all the research involved.
