Businesses in Borris, county Carlow could benefit from the annual Fair insists local woman

A local woman’s hit out at claims that Borris is loosing out due to the annual Fair.

A number of businesses had shut their doors from the evening before, others closing yesterday, with a suggestion by local councillor Willie Quinn that incidents over two decades ago may have led to their decision.

And he added that some think it may not be in the village’s interest to continue hosting the event.

Supt Anthony Farrell earlier told KCLR News that despite the extra numbers in Borris, there was no major incident while the cleanup is expected to continue to mid afternoon.
