A film aimed at ending the stigma surrounding mental health will be screened in Carlow later this evening.
‘See change’ brings its national cinema tour of ‘Infinitely Polar Bear’ – to Visual at8pm this evening as part of the First Fortnight Mental Health Festival.
The film, starring Mark Ruffalo and set in Boston in the 1970’s, documents a man struggling with bipolar disorder.
Hazel Whelan is with the ‘See change’ group, she told KCLR News it’s important that people talk about their mental health.
Meanwhile, the first in a series of public meetings aimed at developing a suicide prevention plan for Carlow also gets underway today.
The screening tonight will be followed by a Q&A panel discussion supported by Carlow Mental Health Association.
