There’s a fresh appeal for help in tracking down those responsible for an aggravated burglary in Clonegal last week.
Four masked men forced their way into the home of a man in Clonogan after he answered a knock to his door.
They proceeded to tie him to a chair and took only a torch and his mobile phone which was subsequently recovered.
It was the second such incident locally in three days, the other being in the Aughamucky area of Castlecomer in north Kilkenny two days earlier. It’s not yet known if the two are connected.
In the County Carlow one, the culprits fled on foot but Sergeant Conor Egan says; “All four are described as being in their twenties with non distinctive Irish accents, they all wore scarves around their faces and all had tight haircuts, we do believe the suspects had some mode of transport and may have headed in the direction of Clonegal village”.
