So as radio does sometines a debate took us down the road of “hurl” or “hurley?” I was taken to task by a Kilmacow listener who told me it was “hurley.” Followed many calls and texts and facebook posts on the subject. A woman from South Kilkenny finally suggested that north of Ballyhale [where people start to be a bit different anyway] the term changed from “hurley” to to hurl.” Adrian Ronan was in no doubt that on the field of play in Kilkenny the “hurl” it was!
Tune in next Tuesday after when Enda McEvoy will be in studio with Eddie Keher talking about Enda’s book The Godfather of Modern Hurling.
