It’s Plough Day at the World Championships for team Ireland which has representation from Carlow and Kilkenny

Coach Brian Ireland is from Kilkenny

The World Ploughing Championships get underway in Latvia today (Friday).

Team Ireland’s on site and awaiting their times – famed duo Eamonn Tracey from Carlow and John Whelan from Wexford will represent the country in the conventional and reversible categories respectively.

They’re joined by coach Brian Ireland from Kilkenny and Monaghan judge John Deere.
