Today’s your last chance to make a submission regarding the proposed wind farm on the slopes of Mount Leinster.
FuturEnergy, a joint venture between the state-owned Coillte and the Electricity Supply Board (ESB), is behind the Croaghaun Wind Farm proposal.
If realised it would see seven turbines at a site south of Myshall and Kildavin in east Carlow which the company suggests would help save 2.9m tonnes of carbon emissions, powering 25,500 homes each year.
However the Save Mount Leinster grouping doesn’t believe the area earmarked is suitable for such a project.
The case was before the courts last year and an appeal was reactivated for a review made in the High Court on 23rd October 2023 – submissions must be received by An Bord Pleanala by 5:30pm today (15th February).
