A Kilkenny councillor says he’s frustrated at what he says is the lack of urgency getting flood defenses in place around Kilkenny.

Pat Dunphy says places like Thomastown and Graiguenamanagh were badly hit last Christmas but there are smaller places and tributaries that get flooded too and they need to be included.

He says the OPW are talking about getting consultants to look at these areas but the threat of flooding is always there
