A man has been charged after appearing in Carlow District Court yesterday following an armed robbery in the High Street Post Office on High Street in Kilkenny on Tuesday.
The man aged in his thirties entered the building at about 3.30 pm with a hammer and demanded money before fleeing with a sum of cash.
He was charged with robbery, assault causing harm, and the production of an article in the course of a dispute.
He’s been remanded in custody to Cloverhill Prison and is due to appear again before court on Monday.
