6,900 people in Carlow and Kilkenny suffer from eyesight problems.
That’s according to the Irish sight loss charity “Fighting Blindness” which has released figures that show 4,400 people in Kilkenny and 2,500 people in Carlow have severe vision impairment.
In response to the huge numbers, they’ve released a new handbook called “A guide to conditions of the retina” which they claim explains our eye health in easy to understand language.
Cathriona Dunne from Fighting Blindness says diminishing eyesight is not just down to age, there may be other reasons.
