Relief in Kilkenny after emergency services rush to explosion in the city

Fears of a major incident were quickly allayed after an explosion was reported in Kilkenny City last evening.

Emergency services were deployed after reports of the explosion at a business in the Hebron industrial estate.

However it transpired that it was caused by a gas cylinder that had been out in the heat.

No damage was caused and no-one was injured in the incident.
