The South East Greenway is on track to open another section.
The first section opened in July 2023 to quite the fanfare, the six kilometres from Rosbercon towards Glenmore quick to get walkers, cyclists and more to try it out – two years on and another part of the pathway is set to become available to walkers and cyclists.
When fully completed, the project is expected to ultimately form part of a longer greenway that will stretch to St Mullins in Carlow and possibly beyond as well as tying into the Waterford Greenway.
But for now we await the next local reveal – Cllr Doherty has told KCLR News; “By the end of March so it is expected that all the necessary works be done, so by the end of Quarter One 2025 the SEG will be in operation from Ferrybank out to Curraghmore in Slieverue, and that compliments the already part that’s done from Ratheen into Rosbercon”.
