South Kilkenny community finally gets its playground

After 13 years of planning and fundraising, Bigwood has its new playground.

The project received almost €100k in funding through Kilkenny County Council and Government grant schemes, with thousands raised through community fundraisers.

The new facility includes swings, slides, and a dedicated biodiversity area, with its spacious design taking into account the natural topography of the site.

Councillor Jenny Catt Slattery, praised the efforts of those in the area, while also commending the local authority’s Community Officer, Leanne Kelly, for her support throughout the project.
