A campaign by local students to promote safe sex raised controversy on the airwaves this morning.
IT Carlow Student Union Welfare Officer Lorna Fitzpatrick was telling KCLR Live all about SHAG week – an annual campaign they run at the Institute to promote Sexual Health and Guidance – which is what SHAG stands for.
Some listeners were outraged claiming its a campaign that promotes casual sex among the student population.
But Lorna Fitzpatrick defended it saying its about promoting safe sex and raising awareness of consent and other issues.
