If you’re set to travel through Carlow or Kilkenny today bear in mind there are a number of temporary road closures in place.
There’s no through-traffic this morning on Carpenter’s Way in Carlow town following last night’s fatal road crash. Stay tuned for updates.
While you’ll get works updates on KCLR Breakfast and in our main lunchtime and evening News bulletins at 1pm and 5pm.
From 11am to 6pm works will force a full closure on the L2010 at the old sawmill, between Butlersgrange and Tankardstown in the Tullow area during which only contiguous landowners will have access on a strictly controlled basis.
There will also be a reduced speed convoy-controlled traffic management system in place for about an hour after the works conclude.
Kilkenny County Council continue their closure of the Kells Road from the Kilkenny Ring Road to Bamford Cross (Goslingstown/Ballynalina) from 8am until 6:30pm – these works are due to finish this evening.
While the R700 Ferrymountgarrett Bridge remains closed until 6am Friday 28th August 2026 for essential bridge rehabilitation works.
