A woman remains in Garda custody following the fatal assault in a Carlow town estate.
30-year-old Darren Quigley was found by gardaí unresponsive and with serious injuries outside a house after 11:30pm on Monday (21st Oct) night.
Son of Tony and Michelle, Darren had one brother, Adam, and he was father to Ava and Erica.
The scene was sealed off and subjected to a technical examination while a post mortem was carried out at University Hospital Waterford yesterday.
A woman, who was known to him, was arrested and taken into custody shortly after midnight on Monday. KCLR News understands she remains detained at a station in Carlow under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, this morning.
