Call goes out for memorabilia of Carlow Fire and other services in years gone by

A Carlow man is putting out a call for anyone with photos or memorabilia from Carlow’s railway, fire service, ambulance service or civil defence to come forward.

Local historian, Paul Curran, who is also a member of the local fire service, is giving at talk this evening as part of Heritage Week on the history of the railway in Carlow.

However, he says he’s also trying to put together an archive of photos and other information and materials to do with the history of the various other services in the county.

Speaking to KCLR News, Paul says it’s important to gather this information now for future generations.
