Carlow Deputy says Tánaiste has no reason to resign

Sinn Féin will wait until this afternoon to decide whether to declare no confidence in the Tánaiste.

The party says Frances Fitzgerald still has questions to answer regarding the Maurice McCabe controversy, and expects her to answer them during leaders’ questions this afternoon.

The Tánaiste is due to visit Kilkenny tomorrow.

Meanwhile Frances Fitzgeralds Fine Gael colleague Pat Deering says he doesn’t think she has any reason to resign.

The Carlow-Kilkenny Deputy says he believes the Tánaiste has explained herself satisfactorily.
