Carlow teenager wants to freeze her eggs before chemotherapy halts her future hopes for a family

A Carlow teenager battling a rare form of cancer says she has always wanted to have a family.
17 year old Shauntelle Tynan is already undergoing treatment for her illness so cannot avail of a state-funded procedure to protect her fertility.
Efforts are underway now to raise the necessary funds to freeze her eggs before the chemotherapy treatment she is getting destroys them completely.
Speaking to KCLR Live today Shauntelle said its something she asked about very early on in her diagnosis but now its become more urgent for her.
