A business premises in Carlow town was targeted in an early morning burglary.
It happened at a mobile phone shop on lower Tullow Street at about twenty to four.
Sgt Conor Egan has been telling KCLR News that; “The shutters of the premises were cut, the glass in the door was broken and access was gained to the premises, as of yet the owners are unable to establish what if anything was taken, they’re doing an inventory later today”.
He’s appealing for possible witnesses, noting “We’d appeal in particular to taxis that might have dashcam on Tullow Street, wouldn’t be far from the taxi rank there on Potato Market, maybe fast food outlets that might have still have been operating or anybody out and about at that hour if they saw anything of a suspicious nature, either by way of a vehicle or persons acting suspiciously on lower Tullow Street this morning we’d appeal to them to contact the Gardaí in Carlow, the detective unit in Carlow are investigating that one.”
And he adds “Maybe the business community, we’ve reached out to them, you know if they could look at their CCTV to see if anything was picked up and I suppose just for businesses along Carlow town just to be alert that this did happen and to secure their premises”.
