Kilkenny Councillor says national plan is needed to deal with banks and boarded-up houses

“All roads lead back to the banks” when it comes to boarded up houses in Kilkenny.

That’s according to local councillor Seán Tyrrell who says he’s noticed it more and more recently where repossessed houses are being boarded-up and let fall into disrepair.

Speaking to KCLR News, Councillor Tyrrell says a plan needs to be developed nationally to deal with these situations so these houses can be brought back into use.

He says there’s no onus on banks to maintain these houses so they also look terrible.
