Kilkenny man Denis Drennan’s bidding to become the next President of the Irish Creamery Milk Suppliers Association.
The Dunbell Dairy Farmer already holds a number of roles, including the Deputy President of ICMSA, but now he’s put his name forward to replace outgoing head Pat McCormack.
He’s been telling KCLR why; “Well I think we have a huge number of issues that are coming down the track, well they’re here already I suppose with nitrates, and I’ve gained a huge amount of experience in ICMSA in the last 15 years, I’ve been on the dairy committee for six years, I’ve been on the executive committee for the last seven years, I’m the current farmer rural affairs chair which would be the committee that would deal with all the environmental issues within the organisation so there’s a huge number of national council members who actually vote for the next President who have approached me to know would I put my name forward as they feel that I have a good level of experience and knowledge”.
