Changes in the licensing laws.
That’s what’s needed to address the public order issues that arise when pubs close their doors at night according to the Chairman of the Joint policing committee in Kilkenny.
Patrick McKee says the Kilkenny Cares initiative that was set up works very well in terms of discussing the various issues that arise.
But he says ultimately it will require something like staggered closing times to address the public order problem.
