The head chef of a local Restaurant says putting calorie counts on menus will cost businesses 5 thousand euro.
The cabinet have approved proposals that will require all restaurants, fast-food outlets and cafes to supply calorie information for all items on the menu.
It’s aimed at encouraging people to choose a healthier option.
However, Alan Foley from the Stephouse Hotel in Borris says there’s more important things to work on than displaying the amount of calories in our food.
