Today we get to decide the shape of our political representation for the next five years.
There are twenty General Election candidates bidding for the five-seater Carlow Kilkenny while north west Kilkenny voters have a say in Tipperary North where they’ll choose three from fourteen hopefuls. (See the candidates and hear from those who took part in our The KCLR Daily General Election debates below).

If you’re unsure which constituency you’re due to vote in, An Coimisiún Toghcháin / The Electoral Commission has a handy map which you can check here.
All eligible to vote should have been sent a polling card to take to their local station but if you didn’t get one of these you can still cast your ballot by bringing with you official identification. Accepted are: passport, driving licence, employee or student identity card (with photograph), travel document with name and photograph, bank / savings / credit union book with address in constituency or a public services card. Alternatively, you can present one of the following with a further document which confirms your address within the constituency: cheque book or card, credit card, birth certificate or marriage certificate.

Polling opened at 7am this morning and continues to 10pm with 220 stations in the Carlow Kilkenny constituency:
