October 2016 had the lowest ever figures for burglaries in Carlow.
That’s according to the Gardai who says there were 184 burglaries last year in total which is down from a record high of 451 back in 2010.
Carlow Gardai announced the figures a joint policing committee meeting this week.
Meanwhile, as part of Operation Clave the Gardai targeted Street drug dealers recently and carried out 97 test purchases.
From that they identified 40 drug dealers, 25 in Kilkenny and 15 in Carlow.
The most common drugs used in Carlow and Kilkenny in order are cannabis, cocaine, heroin and ecstasy.
