Water Charges start today in Carlow and Kilkenny

As you fill the kettle today remember from today every drop of water is costing you money.

Those on a public water supply start paying for water today whether a meter is installed or not.

According to the Energy Regulator, the average cost per house will be around 238 euro a year.

The costs were announced yesterday with the message that even if you don’t have a meter yet, the charges will be capped at an assessed rate for everyone for the first 9 months

After that time when your charges come under the meter, and its less than the assessed charge they will be giving refunds.

The first bills are due in January.
