Final call for applications for Carlow Live and Local.
The county council Arts Service initiative was born out of the similarly named national performance scheme which local authorities managed during the Covid pandemic.
In Carlow, lcoal musicians have been showcased with access provided to performance opportunities.
The organising group’s led by a panel of experts in the sector and comprises musicians Fiach Moriarty and Walter Hennessy as well as Arts Officer Sinead Dowling and Benjamin Perchet, Artistic Director of The Carlow Arts Festival.
The next big staging is at that event in June and the window’s been open for the past month asking potential performers to apply.
Steel bands, classical contemporary or hip hop collectives, community choirs, cover bands, folk musicians and everything in between are welcome as long as they’re up to a good performance standard.
It closes at midday today (Tuesday, 27th February) so hopefuls are asked to submit their plea here by then.
Selected acts will be informed by mid March.
